Sunset on the Lake – April 2, 2023

I wanted to share a scene from this week with you. As some of you know, we originally purchased the lake house because my husband is a project engineer on multiple projects, and because one of the projects is always at an important point, he has always had a hard time getting any vacation. So we purchased a lake house only one hour and 15 minutes from home (2 hours in rush hour traffic) so that we could get away as a family whenever possible – with no packing of suitcases, getting airline tickets, arranging for dog sitters, etc. He could leave for the lake right from work and my son and I could load up the dogs and meet him here. This has been a great blessing! We had a wish list of things for the house that we were hoping for and I spent one year looking for our lake home with a wonderful realtor. She and I house shopped on the internet each week and on Fridays we went to check out houses in person. My list included things like a dock, 1 downstairs bedroom, a room for our son and friends, and a guest room, etc. However, once we moved in I realized I had not had one of the most important things on my list – a view of the sunset on the lake.

Surprisingly the house we chose has that sunset, and we consider it an amazing blessing. On April 2, 2023, this was the sunset view from out backyard. As I was enjoying it, I realized how fast it seemed to be setting, so I filmed the last minute and a half of the sunset and posted the video above. I wanted to share this sunset with you so that you can enjoy it as well. Welcome to the lake!

Wishing you many beautiful sunrises and sunsets!!!!
