Frolicking Fitz and Floyd Bunnies Fill our Easter Tablescape with Fun and Flowers

This Easter Tablescape was created at the “City House” to celebrate fun memories of Easter. The traditional look of the bunnies in the dinnerware brings back the Easters of my childhood.

The Dinnerware

I don’t remember looking for Easter dinnerware, but this pattern found me. I was looking at the Fitz and Floyd website when both the bunnies and the pansies, caught my eye. I loved that the pastel colors coordinated with my favorite Easter tablecloth, and I loved that all the pieces, especially the pansy items could travel seamlessly from Easter tablescapes to those of Spring. At the time I found it, the pansy plates were on clearance at the Fitz and Floyd website, but unfortunately many of the other pieces were no longer available, except with secondary sellers. So I purchased what I could on FitzandFloyd.com and found some other “must-haves” on eBay and Etsy.

The colors in the pattern are largely pastel purple and pink, the main bunny is brown and white and the pansy, with its beautiful green leaves, is the featured flower. In addition, there is a touch of plaid in pastel blue and yellow. The bunny plates shown above are embossed (raised or sculpted) so not great for using for steaks or anything that needs cutting, so I paired them with 2 Bordallo Pinheiro plates for the foods that need to be cut, and I will use the bunny plates for a salad or rolls.

The Tablecloth

I was happy to realize that these dishes coordinated well with the only Easter Tablecloth I had at the time. I have no idea where I got it, but it is a white silky material, embroidered with Easter bunnies, baskets, eggs and flowers. In addition, it has some cut out designs that show through to the layer below. I used a purple tablecloth for the lower layer.

The Plate Stack

The Final Plate in the “Plate Stack” is the “Halcyon” one from Fitz and Floyd

To bring in the pink color, I chose my glass Pier 1 chargers for layer one, followed by the the Bordallo Pinheiro plates. The Bordallo Pinheiro charger is from the vintage pattern “Lemon Leaf”, while the dinner plate is from the current pattern “Geranium”. (All 3 of the preceding plates were also used in my “Hummingbird Tablescape for Fall” post, if you would like to check it out. I love that these plates can be used in many very different tablescapes. I especially love the versatility of the Bordallo Pinheiro plates.

Centerpieces

Fitz and Floyd Halcyon Bunny in Basket

For Centerpieces and Figurines, on the dining table and other tables in the Dining Room, I used items from the Halcyon collection and from other Fitz and Floyd collections. From the Halcyon collection, I used the large bunny cookie jar, multiple baskets and bunnies, a sugar and creamer, an oval flower pot/serving bowl and the small “tumbling bunnies”.

Also from Fitz and Floyd, but from outside of the Halcyon collection, I chose other items that seemed to blend easily with the Halcyon collection and that also allowed me to feature some of our families hobbies and interests. For myself, I selected the “Bunny Tree House School” because I was a teacher for 11 years, at the elementary level. For my husband and son I selected a train plate, and for my husband and I, I chose Bunnies in a car as well as a cookie jar with a bunny couple planning their garden because we seem to do that multiple times a year and also. Other items that are not from the Halcyon collection are the Mama and kids bunny figurines and the dancing couple.

The first was an “All Seasons Drawing Disney” tablescape
