A Pink and Green Easter Tablescape with Rabbits and Roses !!!

Part of the Famille Rose Tablescape Series

Making an Easter Tablescape with Rabbits and Roses

About a year ago, around Easter time, I was thinking about my upcoming Easter tablescape and realized I wanted to do an Easter Tablescape that incorporated some of the white ceramic bunny figurines and serving pieces that I had collected. At that time I realized that a lot of my favorite Easter and Spring plates had brown bunnies on them, and I really didn’t have much that would go with my white ceramic bunnies. My Peter Rabbit dishes have brown bunnies, some of my Pier 1 dishes have brown bunnies, and my Fitz and Floyd Halcyon dishes, also have brown bunnies. Only my Pier 1 Blue and White transfer ware salad plates have featured white bunnies prominently. I used those in last year’s Spring Tablescape, and that tablescape also featured many of my white ceramic bunnies. I loved that tablescape, and loved getting a chance to use my white ceramic bunnies. So for this year, I decided to keep my eyes open for Easter dishes with traditional colors and an old fashioned look.

When I saw the Famille Rose dishes from Williams-Sonoma, that were introduced on Between Naps on the Porch (one of my favorite websites), I decided to check them out. I was excited that these dishes would go well with my white ceramic bunnies, and also that these dishes featured roses, which are some of my favorite flowers (as you might have noticed from pictures of our gardens both below, and in past posts).

The Famille Roses dishes remind me of antique china patterns such a Royal Albert – Old Country Roses from England, which is a pattern I love. However, the antique Old Country Roses dinnerware, is “hand wash only”, and for us – “dishwasher safe” dinnerware seems to work better – especially for dishes used on holidays. Luckily for me, the Famille Rose dishes are Dishwasher safe. I decided purchase some of these dishes from Williams-Sonoma, but due to my late decision I was unable to get them in time for last Easter.

What I also like about the Famille Rose dishes, that the pattern comes in mint green, pink and blue – all colors that I love but that I do not have much of in my collection.

I also love that this pattern is designed to be used in various seasons. Last year, Williams-Sonoma, introduced some “turkey” plates for Thanksgiving in this pattern. I love that his pattern can be easily used for multiple holidays. My first tablescape using Famille Rose Dinnerware was at Thanksgiving of last year. You can click on the below link to check out that post if you would like. This year I am planning to see if I can make tablescapes using these dishes for Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day too. I’m hoping that Williams-Sonoma comes out with a Christmas tree plate to go with these dishes as well as their turkey plate and bunny plates.

Do you use special dishes for Easter? If so, I’d love to hear about them. Are they bunny related? flowers? chicks or ducks? eggs? If you get a chance, please comment about your Easter or Spring traditions, dishes, celebrations, etc. in the comment section. I would love to hear from you!

This Year I Am Excited to Be Using the Famille Rose Dishes for Easter For the First Time…

The First Decisions to Make – Tablecloth, Table Runner, Chargers and Napkins

The first decision to make for this tablescape was what tablecloth and other linens to use. Susan and Maggie (Susan’s Airedale Terrior) came up for the new tablescape. Susan came to help me design and put together the tablescape, while Maggie came to entertain our Simba (a golden retriever).

Susan and I laid out the tablecloth choices – I had the pink roses tablecloth I used at Thanksgiving, a white tablecloth, and a mint green tablecloth. We also laid out some of the Famille Rose pink and mint green dishes and charger choices – Bordallo Pinhiero – Green Geranium; Maryland China – white ; Pier 1 pink glass charger, and Maryland China White Charger.

Ultimately, we decided on the mint green polyester tablecloth from Linen Tablecloth, and the Maryland China white 13″ Round Openwork Plate SKU: 5662 – the edge of which made us both think of the edge of a wicker basket, and it seemed perfect for Easter. I chose the Williams-Sonoma Canton Rose napkins and table runner a little later in the process, as I had forgotten I had them.

Other Items in the Place Settings

Also in each place setting is Golden Affection flatware by Onieda (the pattern is retired, but the flatware is occasionally available on eBay and from other secondary sellers).

This tablescape has two different plate stacks.

Place setting one consists of:

Maryland China Openwork 13″ charger
A Green Famille Rose Dinner Plate
A Pink Salad Plate on top.

While Place Setting two consists of:

the same Maryland China Openwork 13″ charger
A Pink Famille Rose Dinner Plate
With a Green Famille Rose Salad plate on top.

Both place settings have:

one place setting of the Oneida Golden Affection flatware, plus one Williams-Sonoma bunny egg cup.
one Canton Rose napkin from Williams-Sonoma, and one Pier 1 Kissing Bunnies napkin ring,
One Homegoods pink water glass, and pink wine glass, each with an embossed bunny design.

The Table and View at Sunset

Centerpieces and Serving Pieces

On top of the table runner are various Centerpieces and Serving Pieces.

In order from one end of the table to the other are:

  1. A La Jolie Muse individual cupcake stand from Amazon (diameter of serving plate on top is 7″) with a Williams-Sonoma Famille Rose Easter Basket on top. The Basket is filled with faux eggs from Homegoods, Amazon, and local shops. (note, in some of the early pictures, I had the Easter baskets sitting right on the table runner rather than on a bunny cupcake stands. The bold table runner seemed to overpower the Famille Rose Easter baskets, so I added the cupcake stands, and like it much better.

2. A La Jolie Muse cake stand from Amazon (serving plate on top has a diameter of 8 1/2″) with 3 Martha Stewart faux cupcakes from Homegoods this year – 2025.

3. A white 12″ standing ceramic bunny with basket on his back that is filled with faux eggs from Homegoods, Amazon, and local shops.

4. A Williams-Sonoma Famille Rose Large Egg

5. A Second white 12″ standing ceramic bunny with basket on his back that is filled with faux eggs from Homegoods, Amazon, and local shops.

6. A second La Jolie Muse cake stand from Amazon (serving plate on top has a diameter of 8 1/2″) with 3 Martha Stewart faux cupcakes from Homegoods this year – 2025.

7. A second A La Jolie Muse individual cupcake stand from Amazon (diameter of serving plate on top is 7″) with a Williams-Sonoma Famille Rose Easter Basket on top. The Basket is filled with faux eggs from Homegoods, Amazon, and local shops.

White Bunny Collection from various sellers and Sculptural Bunny Collection from Williams-Sonoma purchased around 2020-2025

Standing 12″ Bunny with Basket on his back – possibly from Amazon, Homegoods or Pottery Barn a while back. If looking for this try a google search and then check the reliability of the websites that turn up. I could not find one at a website I am familiar with.

La Jolie Muse individual Cupcake Pedestal – plate on pedestal is 7″ in diameter – originally from Amazon, but now replaced with an 8 1/2″ diameter one. (note: although I used 2 different sized pedestals, because that is what I had, I believe it would work fine to have all 4 pedestals the same)

La Jolie Muse Cupcake Stand – plate on pedestal is 8 1/2″ in diameter (note: although I used 2 different sized pedestals, because that is what I had, I believe it would work fine to have all 4 pedestals the same)

Williams-Sonoma White Sculptural Bunny egg cup (at each place)

Williams-Sonoma Sculptural Bunny Vase

Other Items

Oneida Golden Affection flatware – retired pattern – occasionally available on eBay, but any gold flatware would work well with the Famille Rose Collection

“Kissing Bunnies” Napkin Rings – the old Pier 1 stores and alternate to the “Kissing Bunny Napkin ring, is the Williams-Sonoma Sculptural Bunny Napkin ring

Pink Embossed Bunny Water Glass and Wine Glass – Homegoods – around 2015

Hemlock Green Tablecloth – Polyester but requires thorough ironing on steaming – LinenTablecloth.com

Canton Rose Table Runner and Napkins, etc. – Williams-Sonoma – (note: Although Williams-Sonoma also has a table cloth, table runner and napkins in a pattern called “Famille Rose” which is also the name of the dishes I used, my favorite Williams-Sonoma tablecloths, table runners and napkins for use with the Famille Rose Dishes are the Willams-Sonoma “Canton Rose” ones. The Canton Rose Tablecloth does not come in the size needed for my table, so I ended up using the Hemlock green tablecloth from Linen Tablecloth, and I loved the combination of solid mint green tablecloth (Hemlock) , with the Williams-Sonoma Canton Rose table runner. )

Fiber Optic Easter Tree with Bunny – originally from Walmart. Now occasionally available on eBay.
