In my last post I talked about my challenges over the years in finding a St. Patrick’s Day set of dishes, and how I never seem to find a complete set. No sooner had a complained publicly than Amazon added an ad for St. Patrick’s Day dishes to the “purchases I might like section” along with purchase info for this set of dishes.
I decided to look at this pop up Amazon ad as if it were A Lucky Leprechaun initiating Good Luck for me, rather than an ad based on purchase tracking, although in spite my “Wanna Be Irish” brain, am completely aware it is the latter.
Anyway, I bought these dishes and decided to use them in my tablescape this week. They are “UPware Shamrock Melamine dishes” and were available at Amazon, Wayfair, and a few other places at the time I got my sets. I priced them from multiple sellers, but Amazon was the best price when I factored in shipping costs. I’m wondering if they were carried by Homegoods this year, although I was not lucky enough to see them there.
My dining room table is an odd shape and size, and none of the St Patrick’s Day Tablecloths I have seen have been a good fit, so I decided to go with my Waterford white tablecloth and use Shamrock placemats on top of the tablecloth. I like the way the following shamrock placemat has cut outs for the tablecloth to show through. It was available at Dollar Tree this season, though they sold out early in our area. This leads me to think that I am not the only one on a constant quest for things for St. Patrick’s Day parties and dinners.
For my short stack of dishes, I added the dinner plate, followed by the Shamrock shaped small plate. Although I do have bowls and salad plates in this set, I decided not to use them on the tablescape as they took the focus off the unique placemats. The green satin napkins were an addition to my napkin “collection” this month.
Last year after St. Patrick’s Day, I happened upon a St. Patrick’s Day pitcher on eBay- made by Fitz and Floyd. I thought it was adorable, and purchased it with the hopes that it would look good with one of my St. Pat’s tables. This seemed like the time to try it. I love the way it has both sides decorated with Leprechauns, and the huge amount of flowers that fit into it.
Another new item this year was another “Dept. 56 Clothtique Possible Dreams Santa” to go with the “Leprechaun Loot” one I used in my Dog St. Pat table. This new Santa was found on eBay, and he’s walking an Irish Setter with a “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” sign around its neck. Although, the Possible Dreams pup is an Irish Setter he looks enough like a Golden to remind me of “Simba” – our 1 1/2 year old “pup”. If you would like to see my St. Patrick’s Day Dog tablescape – with both the Clothtique Possible Dreams Santas, the “Leprechaun”and more dog items, please see my post “St. Patrick’s Day has ‘Gone to the Dogs’ for a ‘Doggone Good’ Celebration!”
Other items – the green vintage candle holders, the silk flowers and leaves, the green lit tree and the shamrock favor box – were all things I had purchased for other tablescapes. The gold flatware is the pattern my husband and I chose when we got married in 1988. We still love that pattern!
The Gold Goblets, pots of gold, shamrock favor box, and napkin rings, and flatware were used on previous tablescapes…
…as were the depression glass candle holders, and battery operated moving wick tapers.
As I was taking these pictures, the sun began to set, and I was excited to get to take some pictures with the sunset in the background, and then with the night sky in the background. After the sunset pictures you will see a Details and Origins Section if you would like to know more about the items used.
We have never lost our awe in the sunsets – each one so beautiful, and so unique! I hope you too enjoy our sunset on the lake!!

UPware Shamrock 16 piece Melamine dinnerware set – Amazon
Shamrock Placemats – Dollar Tree, earlier in March 2023. Interestingly, I just found out that according to the Dollar Tree website, The Shamrocks that I used for placemats are considered “St. Patrick’s Day Glittery Die-Cut Felt Shamrock Wall Decorations, 16.375×16.125 in.SKU: 247881” I was surprised to realize that they are considered wall decorations, rather than placemats, although they work great as placemats.
Possible Dreams Santa by Dept. 56 “Leprechaun Loot” – originally from Dillard’s, possibly available now on eBay or Etsy
Possible Dreams Santa by Dept. 56 “Irish Santa with Irish Setter” 2022 – available at Amazon currently although I bought mine in March 2023 on Ebay.

Thank you for sharing your colorful St. Pats table, but also the gorgeous lake views…..especially the sunset! I would love to find the Fitz and Floyd pitcher, so will have to watch on E-bay and maybe I will get lucky!
Patty | 13th Mar 23
Lee, I’m so glad you liked the table and the Leprechaun pitcher, and the sunsets. Every time I see a sunset I feel so blessed! I hope you find your Leprechaun Pitcher! I got mine a year or so ago on eBay, so I think you may be able to find one, if not now, then maybe next year before St. Patrick’s Day next year, Good Luck! (I believe the pitcher was made in 1988, and there was also an adorable Leprechaun candle holder in the series too) and thanks so much for your kind comments! Patty

St. Patrick’s Day table was attractive. I think the white table cloth was perfect with all the greenery on the plates. Any other colored cloth would have been too much. With the white cloth you can see the design on the plates better. The plates need some Irish soda bread and butter on them.
I enjoy seeing the vintage green candle holders.

Jennifer, Thank you so much for you nice comment on my Lucky Leprechaun Tablescape post! I’m so glad you liked the “Santa”, I have been getting most of them on eBay and have been surprised how many they have had for St. Patrick’s Day – and I always feel lucky to find something special for that holiday. Thanks, as always for hosting your “Will blog for comments – link up”! I love it. My apologies on the late answer to your comment – I’ve been having a few glitches with word press that put some things in spam that shouldn’t be there, including some comments and some of my comments back. So if you get 3 repetitive answers to your same comment, that is because when I finally found my replies in spam “never land” and “unspammed” them – and each of my replies reappeared. I think I’m figuring it out now. – Patty
