Lighting up the Night for Valentine’s Day

As some of you who have seen my Halloween Skeleton posts may already know, I have always been a “holiday person” but that increased during Covid Quartine, when I started the skeletons and added outdoor decorations for various holiday to entertain the many neighbors who walked past our house each day. For holidays besides Halloween, I usually start with an inflatable and am trying to add a new item each year.

In my original Valentine’s Display, I started with the Mickey, Minnie, and Conversation heart inflatables and added floodlights in the background.

The next year at Christmas time, I added the “Orchestra of light C-9 strings” along the top edge of the garage and switched them to different color combinations for Valentine’s Day. Orchestra of lights is a Gemmy product which as of 2022 was only sold at Lowes and usually only well stocked during October. It comes with preprogrammed colors for each holiday and with sparkle and other effects that I select each holiday. I have also done custom colors in any one color, with effects added to give it variety. I use the Valentine’s Day preset for this display which uses alternating lights of red, and fuchsia. I have had some problems with the program and timer switching on me (possibly due to power or internet glitches) but I simply reset them on my phone, and we are back in “business”. Inspire of the few “glitches” I love having the lights up all year, and it being so easy to with to different holiday themes and colors.

This year I added the conversation hearts on stakes to my flower pots and yard, and added pink flood lights with the Orchestra of lights light strings.

Although this is “low key” compared to the skeletons, the neighbors seem to enjoy it, and I enjoy seeing the lights each holiday.
